A week of events...Canada Day...Ava's B-Day...US Independence Day

This past week was busy with a large gathering in downtown Tampa from CENTCOM, SOCOM and the local government to celebrate Canada Day. There was Moose-Milk, Elk, Beaver Tails and the all elusive Snow-Chicken on the menu for all to sample as well as the required Canadian beer commercials to demonstrate what it is to be Canadian. Ava’s birthday was celebrated at home (covered the last post) and we spent July 4th at Howard beach down the road, swimming, snorkeling and fishing.

Ava's First B-Day

On July 2nd, Ava moved from infant to toddler! She had a great time opening gifts from family and friends, as well as eating her birthday cake!

Rowan's friend Lily's B-Day

One of Rowan's little friends from gymnastics, Lily, invited her over for her birthday in June. All had a good time and the girls were able to get in the pool, and off the diving board before the afternoon storms came in.

Visit to Sea World

In June we took the girls to Orlando to Sea World for the day. There was lots to see, but we found it was more a theme park rather than dedicated to sea animals. The crowds were large enough that the last show for Shamu was full an hour before the start time.

May Picnic

The girls were invited to a picnic by Paola's friend Yim, and everyone had a great time.

Check out Ava's face with her first taste of a snow cone!

Ava's now walking...

With May came Ava's first steps at ten months of age.

Disney World (Rowan's B-Day Cont)

Rowan wanted to go to Disney World for her birthday, so off we went on a Saturday. After a number of rides (and long waits), heat and crowds, Rowan was ready to say good by to Mickey after only a few hours!

Rowan's B-Day (3 May)

With the weather being so nice in May (not too hot!), we had Rowan's birthday at the local "splash playground" with some of her little friends from martial arts.
