Go fly a kite!

With the blustery weather we have been having, it was perfect to fly Paola's Dragon Kite. Rowan had the best luck keeping it aloft, but with a wee bit of a hard landing, the dragon is now flying as an ornament in Ava's room....

Ava's First Swim Class

February saw Ava taking her first swim class with Dad. The pool was nice and warm and she did not seem to mind the exercises to get her used to the water going over her head. Big sister was taking her class at the same time and was encouraging her every step of the way demonstrating how to go under water! She is also crawling all around the house and standing to reach those once "safe" areas on the tables.

Allen's in the Florida Keys

Its rare to be ordered on leave, but we made the best of it and drove down to Key West to check out the most southern point in the US. It was a wonderful trip to an area well worth a visit back in the future. On the way back we payed a visit to an alligator farm and drive through Miami to check out where we would be catching our cruise ship the next month.

Ava's Baptism

One of the main reasons for heading back to Edmonton for the holidays, was to have Ava baptised there as Rowan was with her God Parents Tracey and Hardy McGill. Mom and Dad Allen flew out from Victoria for the event, and the girls were able to enjoy a visit with both sets of Grand Parents.

Xmas in Alberta

Not wanting to get used to the heat, the family headed back to The Great White North, Edmonton, Alberta for a truly white Christmas.
